In this report, the current position with respect to the use of analytical measurement in the UK Legal System is examined and the issues raised are explored.
The issues raised divided into two categories:
1) those that relate directly to this project and
2) those that relate indirectly but need to be examined to present all findings in context.
The overall conclusion, however, is that these issues need to be presented to those who have involvement in using measurement evidence in legal proceedings. A Good Practice Guide is therefore to be developed, aimed primarily at those legal and scientific professionals will infrequently be involved in using analytical measurement in either criminal or civil cases.
