Evaluating Confidence in Analytical Measurement Part (a): Literature review of uncertainty in laboratory operations - gas chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography
The aim of this review is to identify published information on the key parameters that affect analysis by gas and liquid chromatography. Where data on the magnitudes of the effects of the parameters were given, the figures are reported here. The review is restricted to quantitative analysis by GC and HPLC. It does not cover the preparation of samples prior to analysis as this is addressed in a separate review. The study covers the main detection techniques used with GC and HPLC but excludes mass-spectrometry. The review has been subdivided into a number of sections covering different aspects of chromatographic analysis.
