Various forms of technology transfer activity have been undertaken throughout 1997/98 to ensure that relevant UK industrialists, aerosol and particulate specialists have been made aware of VAM 1997-2000: Aerosols and Particulates. These activities included a well-attended seminar in mid-January 1998 during which the various elements of VAM 1997-2000 were publicised.
Another focus of efforts has been the editorial preparation of book-based guidelines for the sampling and analysis of airborne particulates to a prescribed format requested by The Royal Society of Chemistry. The net result of this prolonged exercise has been the publication of two authoritative booklets:
- Aerosol Sampling Guidelines (pp 170, £59.50),
- Aerosol Particle Size Analysis: Good Calibration Practices (pp 115, £45.00).
Members of the VAM team have also participated at appropriate national and international meetings throughout the year. Furthermore, preparations have been made to promote and advertise VAM products at the International Aerosol Conference, Edinburgh, 14-18 September 1998, to be attended by the vast majority of aerosol specialists from around the world.
