Guidelines for Achieving Quality in Trace Analysis

Date: 01/01/1995 Ref No: ISSN: 0 85404 402 7 Type: Book
Author(s): M Sargent; G MacKay;
Organisation/Publisher: RSC

This guide derives from an extensive Government-funded project that has addressed generic aspects of improving the quality of trace analysis measurements. Central to this initiative has been the development of a concise protocol that will act as a check list of key issues for those involved in carrying out trace analysis, or who rely on the results.

Guidelines for Achieving Quality in Trace Analysis gives a concise summary of the requirements for obtaining reliable trace analysis data, including both the scientific problems relating to trace analysis and all the relevant quality assurance issues. The protocol text is highlighted for clarity and presented with additional information which amplifies and explains its requirements. Also included are examples and an extensive glossary of the technical terms used. This book is applicable to laboratories where accreditation or certified quality systems are already in place, where it is intended to seek compliance with an externally audited scheme, or where there is simply a need to adopt a more systematic approach to laboratory quality assurance.

Guidelines for Achieving Quality in Trace Analysis combines the expertise of industrial, public sector and academic specialists and provides authoritative advice which is applicable to all areas of trace analysis. It will benefit analysts at all levels, as well as quality assessors, managers, those who purchase or rely on trace analysis data, students and teachers.
