The network is supported by the Clinical Reference Materials User Group (CRMUG) which consists of representatives from clinical laboratories, legislative and accreditation bodies. The user group will act as a forum for collaboration on all aspects of clinical reference materials and sector-based training.

The Clinical-VSN aims to:

• Act as a forum for sharing views and experience on the needs for reference materials and training.
• Identify key topics and assist in the preparation of guides, discussion papers, etc. relating to the measurement and training needs of the sector. 
• Collaborate on improving analytical methods for key applications through the use of reference materials.  
• Assist with the training and knowledge transfer requirements of the clinical sector.
• Facilitate feedback on users' experiences with reference materials, training courses and guides.

The Clinical-VSN is open to all persons interested in the clinical sector. Comments and feedback on current and future projects are welcomed.
