Whilst knowledge transfer is an integral component of the research and development carried out within the technical themes, this is primarily geared towards transferring the scientific outputs of the programme. The programme-wide knowledge transfer theme underpins horizontal activities concerned with the development and dissemination of best practice in analytical measurement.
- The first project (KT1) aims to encourage and facilitate the uptake of best practice through an active internet site, publications (such as the VAM Bulletin) and the provision of technical advice through the VAM Helpdesk.
- The second project (KT2) will improve the effectiveness of the analytical workforce, particularly those in SMEs, by providing training and coaching in core analytical competencies and method validation, and in assisting the education of the future workforce by providing materials and tools for universities and schools.
- The third project (KT3) seeks to continue to foster collaboration with other countries through the active participation with international organisations concerned with improving the reliability and comparability of chemical measurement.
