Many training courses on topics aimed at improving the quality of measurements have been developed under the VAM Programme. However, in working with groups of analytical scientists, it became clear that the basic skills required in an analytical laboratory were not covered on courses neither were they readily available in paper format.
�Practical Laboratory Skills Training Guides� is a series of five guides designed to fill this gap. The titles in the set are:
These guides are aimed at those working at the bench. Each guide includes a limited amount of theory to explain the essential features but the main emphasis is on what to do to ensure reliable results. Each also includes a limited number of suggested exercises and the chromatography guides have trouble-shooting sections.
