The UK Bio-Measurement Network has been set up to promote consideration of quality issues and dissemination of information on new and emerging technologies in the area of molecular biological analysis.

Objectives
1) To review existing and emerging technologies in the area of molecular biology.
2) To encourage exchange of ideas and information relevant to those carrying out bio measurements via the website, workshops and seminars.
3) To disseminate useful and timely information about legislation and the availability of reference materials and standards.
4) To provide the analytical community with tools and mechanisms, such as proficiency testing schemes and reference materials, to help improve and demonstrate the quality and comparability of nucleic acid based analyses.

How the Network will operate
The network will operate primarily via the Internet using e-mail to alert Network members when relevant new information is available on the web-site. Results and technology surveys produced through the current research programme will be exclusively available through the Bio-Measurement Network. Joining is free, and there are numerous benefits to membership:
