LGC invites members from the academic, industrial and regulatory sectors to participate in a working group to develop this groundbreaking initiative.

There is an acute need for a harmonised approach to standardising gene expression measurements. Quantitative real-time RT-PCR and microarrays provide good platforms for gene expression measurements in research, but for these technologies to be widely applied in areas such as diagnostics, standardisation is crucial.

We are looking for interested parties from industrial, academic and regulatory organisations to take part in a working group dedicated to addressing this issue. The group will be leading the effort of working towards the development of an internationally recognised standard unit to measure gene expression.
