Quantitative DNA measurements & the development of reference standards

The importance of nucleic acid measurements has increased in many sectors, including environmental and agricultural analysis, medical diagnostics and prognostics. However, the accuracy required for these analyses cannot be achieved due to ill-defined measurement biases, lack of certified reference materials and heterogeneity between laboratories.

Work initiated under the previous VAM Programme is being continued to move forward the tools to support quantitative nucleic acid measurements and obtain valid results from microarray based measurements.
